Key to map added

Thanks to proofreader Susan, I’ve added this key to the maps used in the book. I’ve tried to always keep north facing up, although sometimes you have to turn the book for those pages where the map is rotated 90°. The majority of the maps are oriented so that north faces the top of the page as you’re holding the book.

The detailed town maps, however, are rotated so that north faces the left edge of the opened book. There’s one canal map that’s oriented this way as well, as the canal runs mostly east-west through Glanusk Park.

The book is written to follow the canal from Brecon to Newport, and the Crumlin Arm reads from Newport to Cwmcarn. As you can imagine, it took some head scratching to layout the maps.

I’ve drawn all the maps in Adobe Illustrator. And it’s not strictly to scale, but close enough.
